Frequently Asked Questions

        Q. How does the Flex-Shot Trainer help you shoot better?

A. The biggest asset of the Flex-Shot is the fact that it will not allow you to exercise with a crooked or angled wrist.  It forces you to flex with a vertical forearm and wrist.  This repetitious exercise creates a mind to muscle relationship that helps to eliminate bad habits.  It also strengthens the correct muscles so they dominate in tense situations.

Q. Will the Flex-Shot reduce training time?

A. Not necessarily, you still need to practice shooting on a real basket.  Many other factors affect good shooting including conditioning, shooting mechanics, and interpreting basket distance. The Flex-Shot only strengthens your wrist and hand coordination.  You should however, see an improvement in form, shooting control and ball control.

Q. Where else can I purchase it?

A. A growing list of affiliates mostly in the Metro Detroit area carry the product. Otherwise you can take advantage of the convenient mail order door delivery.

Q. Does using this product cause physical problems such as Carpel-Tunnel Syndrome?

A. Some Therapists are considering using the Flex-Shot Trainer as a rehabilitation tool for Carpel-Tunnel Syndrome patients.  The open handed full flexion motion helps to restore flexibility in wrists.  Tendonitis can be developed from excessive use without proper conditioning.  The included instructions fully explain guidelines for problem free usage.

Q. Can I use it on either hand?

A. Yes, the Flex-Shot is universally designed for either hand. It’s especially good for helping to develop the weaker shooting hand.

Q. How is this better than the products on the market now?

A. No other product on the market helps to correct your form quicker.  Some products may increase strength using closed hand grips, but they don’t teach form and a few can even distort form.  The Flex-Shot uses a unique open hand exercising technique that conditions the muscles in the very capacity that they are needed for shooting.

Q. Why does it cost so much?

A. $59.95 is actually a good value when you consider the years of product development costs.  The price of this model will eventually decrease, but by then your competition will have the edge.  A new and improved model is still in the design stage.  No introduction date is scheduled yet. Don't let the competition get the jump on you.  The next generation model will have a cost increase and may include a Pro endorsement.  Remember, basketball is one of the cheapest sports to play and produces some of the highest paid players.

Q. Who’s using it now?

A. Many of the recent purchasers are AAU players serious about getting better.  Junior High, High school and some college coaches use it to help develop talented players with bad form.  They are also seeing the benefits in players that have purchased the Flex-Shot.  Parents of players who want to see their kid become a complete player and take their game to the next level buy the most.  A list of references can be E-mailed to you upon request.  Contact_Us.

Q. What other exercises can done with it.

A. Several exercises included with the instruction manual are recommended.  For example; Turn & Shoot – With back facing rim, turn pivot so feet are square with rim then shoot (flex unit). Full shooting form should be used including bending knees and full arm extensions.  Finger rolls and hook shots are included.

Q. Can I use a school’s purchase order and can I use my tax-exempt status?

A. Yes, Minimum orders of two are required for purchase orders.  No sales tax is charges outside of Michigan.  Michigan orders require tax-exempt proof with your order form.

Q. Why does it feel so loose on my arm?

A. The Flex-Shot Trainer was designed to force the user to practice one hand ball control. This plays a major part in teaching to shoot with more ball control. The arm and wrist support is merely a reference and tension support. With fingers constantly on the ball with a slight pressure, the unit will not wobble. The ball should never completely leave the fingers when flexing.

Q. Is the tension adjustable?

A. Yes, the 2 knobs at the base of the unit allows a range of resistance adjustments to accommodate weaker or stronger wrists.

Q. If it breaks, can I return it?

A. Yes, the Flex-Shot Trainer comes with a 60-day money back guarantee for conditions under normal use.

Q. When should I use it?

A. The Flex-Shot Trainer should be used as one of the last exercises in a conditioning program.  It can also be used with light repetitions just before a game to heighten shooting form and reprogram muscle memory.

Q. Can a women’s ball be used with it?

A. Yes, the Flex-Shot can be used with any standard men’s or women’s basketball.
